RC Superintendent Tidbits

Thank you to all of the long-term care residents and staff for allowing us to come interrupt your day with some Christmas caroling. We spent just enough time for a few songs before moving our show to main street. With help from the sheriff department, we were able to take a stroll up and down main street while singing our hearts out. Thanks to all of the businesses and patrons who came out and endured what we had to offer. This was an attempt at giving back to our community that supports the school district, students, and staff twelve months of the year. Hopefully we brought some joy to some patrons prior to the holidays.
Rock County Public Schools will be reimbursing parents/guardians for mileage a little different moving forward. The school district has always kept track of student attendance and based mileage off of those numbers. This will be changing due to concerns from citizens about the school over paying in some cases. Moving forward, parents/guardians will need to keep track of the days they are driving their children to school and they will be required to turn in a mileage reimbursement request in order to receive payment for those days. We are trying to make the paperwork side of it for parents/guardians as simple as possible. The forms can be located on the Rock County Public School website. If you have questions, please contact Brandi Hollenbeck or myself and we can help with the forms. New mileage rates have come out as of January 1, 2022 and those rates will be in effect for the third and fourth quarters of school.
