Hello, I'm Cindy Friese, and I’ve been teaching for 23 years.
I graduated from Wayne State College with a Bachelor's degree, Arizona State University with a Postbac in Elementary Education, and Concordia University with a Master’s in Education.
My husband, Jon, and I have two adult children and two dogs. We moved to Bassett three years ago from the Omaha area.
I am excited to be a part of your child’s education!
Breakfast
Breakfast is served every morning starting at 7:45. If your child would like to eat breakfast, please have them to school early. This ensures they can be done by 8:15 when school begins. Please check with Ms. Bobbie in the office for your Breakfast/lunch balances. Notices will be sent when balances need replenishment.
Snacks
The school will provide a free healthy snack each day after our 10:00 recess. White or chocolate milk is also offered, but it is charged to your milk account. If your child has any food allergies, please let us know so we can avoid any allergens.
Lunch
Our daily lunch period is from 11:25 to 11:50. Children may bring a cold lunch from home or eat school lunch. Your child may purchase milk if needed. Students eat in the lunchroom and then go out for a recess break until 12:10.
Birthdays
Birthdays are special for your child. Birthday treats can be brought to share, however check in advance to avoid any food allergy issues. We will celebrate summer birthdays on their half-birthdays.
Book Orders
A few times throughout the school year, I will send home Scholastic Book Club flyers for you and your child to review. They offer wonderful books at reduced prices. I will send book club flyers, but for your convenience, you may click here to view our class page and order.
Star of the Week
Throughout the year, your child will be assigned Star of the Week. Each day of that week, your child will have something special for their special week. You can click here to view the daily doings for your child's week.
Reading at Home Incentives
The more your child reads at home the more beneficial it will be in the classroom. I encourage 10-15 minutes of reading at home each night. If your child reads and a parent initials the date box on the monthly calendar in your child's green take-home folder, Your child will earn a punch on a special punch card for my prize box.
If your child participates in Mrs. Seberger's monthly school-wide reading challenges, you will not have to initial the calendar; I will check their challenge sheet instead of their take-home folder calendar. More information will be sent home concerning the school-wide reading challenges.
