Rock County Public Schools along with the North Central Knights will be able to expand our fan attendance with the new DHM and NSAA guidance. While following the guidance included in the DHM and guidance from NSAA, we will be able to allow four fans per participant for basketball double-headers and we will be able to allow for 50% capacity at all indoor events. In order to attend, fans will need to be put on the attendance list by one of the participants. This guidance is good as long as the DHM does not change or the guidance from NSAA does not change. If changes happen, notification will be put out to the public.
Rock County Board of Education is in the process of reviewing and updating board policies. This began in October of 2019 and we should be completing the process this spring or summer. You may read in our board minutes that certain policies have been adopted but know that they will be reviewed individually, adopted individually, and then all put into practice at the same time once we have completed all of the policies. Our current board policies will remain effective until all policies have been reviewed and adopted by the Rock County School Board of Education.
We have some challenging tasks ahead of us in the upcoming months. I will be working with the Board of Education to review and develop our vision and mission as a school district. Within this work, we will determine goals for our district moving forward. I will also be working with the Board of Education to develop a facilities and maintenance plan for the district. We have issues that will need to be addressed in our facilities and putting a plan in place to address those issues over time will better serve the district and patrons.
