RC Superintendent Tidbits

Guidance has come out for spring activities from NSAA and they are pretty much as expected. Our coaches, athletes, and fans will not have to mask while attending outdoor events as long as six feet of social distancing is possible and there will be no limits on attendance. What this means for all of us and all of you is that we will be competing in track meets and golf meets this spring and if you are suffering from withdrawals of not being able to watch our kids compete in person, the solution is near. North Central track athletes are scheduled to compete March 20 in Kearney and there will be a home track meet April 6 for the high school athletes and April 13 for the junior high track athletes. As for golf, your first chance to support the golfers will be March 30 in Valentine or the first home contest is April 5. All of these dates are weather permitting but it is exciting to think we are only days away from seeing our kids compete in person.
It is the time of year to start looking at hiring staff for the 2021-2022 school year. At this point, we have one teacher to hire and possibly some classified staff. Our classified staff positions are compensated with single insurance, paid vacation time, and Nebraska Retirement with the employer match. If you have a passion for working with kids and other adults who care about kids, please keep an eye on the paper for potential openings for next year.
