RC Superintendent Tidbits

November 11 has come and gone and Rock County Public Schools took that opportunity to thank our Veterans. The program consisted of music, skits, and Doug Fox was the guest speaker. Thank you to all who helped make it a great success and a special thank you to Mrs. Larson and her student council members who planned and produced the program. November 11 is our annual day to thank our Veterans but there are 364 other days of the year that we enjoy the freedoms granted us due to the sacrifices they have made. Thank you Veterans!
With the passing of Veterans Day also comes the onset of Thanksgiving. In the past two years or so, it has become increasingly difficult to focus on the things we should all be thankful for. As a school administrator, I am thankful for all you who reach out in support of the work our staff is doing on a daily basis. We do not always get it right but we do always have the best intentions. Thank you to the parents who spend countless hours supporting our efforts as a district. Things tend to go much better and the learning is enhanced when the district and parents are on the same page. And finally, thank you to the school board and staff at Rock County Public Schools. The board and staff work towards one common goal of doing what is best for kids academically, emotionally, and physically while being fiscally responsible. In a time when it seems to be much easier to be cynical, I ask that we all step back and remember the great things we have going in our life, school district, and community.
