FFA Range Judgers grades 7-12: On Monday August 12th there is an opportunity for you to travel north of Johnstown to the grassland preserve to do range plant identification with the plant ecologists on site. We would leave the school at 6:30 am and return in the early afternoon. If interested in going, please message Mrs. Sybrant or Mrs. Dvorak by August 5th.

In support of Zak Palmer, the Keya Paha FFA is hosting an FFA member-only barn dance at the historic Norden Dance Hall. The dance will take place on August 10th 8pm-midnight. The fee will be $3 at the door. Pop and water will be available for purchase. In order for you to get into the dance, you must be on the guest list. Please email or text Mrs. Dvorak or Mrs. Sybrant if you would like on the guest list.

All parents that plan on enrolling their child in Rock County Public Schools Pre-School this fall, please contact Miss Harlee at [email protected] or call the High School at 402-684-3411. We are needing enrollment numbers ASAP. This includes those that have already applied for Pre-School as well as those who haven't. Any questions, please contact Miss Harlee or the High School office.

Range Judging Practices
The Rock County FFA will be hosting two range judging brush ups on Tuesday, July 30th and Tuesday, August 6th. Both events will run from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and we will meet in the Ag Room at RCHS. All 7-12 graders are welcome to attend. If you are interested in one night or both nights, please contact either Mrs. Dvorak (402-925-8432) or Mrs. Sybrant (402-841-0275) by July 29th to get on the list!

FFA Livestock Judging
Burwell FFA is hosting a livestock judging competition on Friday, July 26th. We would leave Bassett at 2:15 p.m. The judging begins at 4:00, with free admission to the rodeo that starts at 7:30. All 7-12 graders are welcome to attend. If you would like to participate, please contact either Mrs. Dvorak (402-925-8432) or Mrs. Sybrant (402-841-0275) by July 22nd to get your name on the list.

Congratulations to NC Class D High Jump STATE CHAMPION Hunter Wiebelhaus with a jump of 5’5”. This is a new North Central record. Hunter beat her previous record.

Congratulations to NC 800m Run Class D State Champion Trace Ebert.

Congratulations to the NC Boys 3200m relay. They are BACK TO BACK STATE CHAMPIONS.

Calling all family, friends, and supporters of BGS... we have several classes that are super close to hitting their goal of bringing in 600 BoxTops per class to receive a movie/popcorn party on the last day of school! If you have any BoxTops, please either bring them in or send with the student of your choice! Tomorrow is the last day to submit them as I will be counting them tomorrow after school! Our students would appreciate all of the help that they can get! Thank you!


Congratulations to the North Central Girls' for their District Track Championship and Congratulations to the North Central Boys' for their District Track Championship. A super day for North Central Track.

Seniors-Mr. Dohrman will send a final high school transcript when they become available to the college you are currently planning to attend. You only need to notify him if you change colleges.

On The Go Gelato will be selling at the district track meet Friday! They will be set up outside by the concession stand, and will start selling at 10:00 A.M. Come support the North Central Track Team and get some delicious gelato!

The HS Golf meet scheduled for Thursday, May 9th at Frederick Peak in Valentine has been moved to Friday, May 10th and will start at 10:30am.

Congratulations to Rachel Keber for receiving the "Teacher of the Month" by NTV out of Kearney. Taylor Fales wrote a 3 page letter nominating Ms. Keber. Kent Boughton from NTV and Jamie Scott presented Ms. Keber her award and interviewed both Ms. Keber and Taylor Fales. The segment will air on NTV tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6:00 and 10:00.
