When to keep your student home, some helpful information from the Nebraska Department of Health:

We are so excited to welcome new staff members this year! Hello! My name is John Klosterman and I will be the new 7-12 PE Teacher at Rock County High School. I moved to Bassett in July of 2022 with my wife Alyx, together we have two wonderful children (Quinn is 5 and Aiden is 3). I'd feel bad if I left out our two dogs. Sammy is a 6-year-old Chocolate Lab and Gracie is a 1-year-old Golden Retriever. I enjoy golfing and watching or playing sports in my free time. A fun fact about me is that I am a huge Chicago Cubs baseball fan. On my bucket list, I have a goal to see my Cubs play in every Major League stadium.

We are missing a lot of physical forms from high school kids. If your student athlete is starting conditioning on Monday morning, we need those in before they can start conditioning.

North Central Sports Cooperative is still looking for and Assistant JH Football coach. If you are interested please contact Mrs. Fischer @ Rock County or Mr. Stephen at Keya Paha County.

Just a reminder that HS Fall Sports conditioning starts next week. Student athletes need to have their physicals turned into the office before conditioning starts.

Student Accident Insurance, as parents/guardians you have the option to purchase this coverage if you have any questions please contact the number on the form.

Remember if you qualify this also reduces the cost of recess milk for PK-6 grade students. If you question whether or not you would qualify, fill out the application. All income information is kept confidential and doesn't leave the office.

The Rock County High School Gym will be closed from Tuesday, July 19th through Wednesday, July 26th.

Mr. Dohrman will be in the office on August 1st and 2nd from 8 am - 3 pm if you need to change or review your class selections.

The summer BEEP program was a success!

Fall Sports Conditioning and Practice Schedule, times are subject to change.

The second session of BEEP begins tomorrow, July 11th and will run through Thursday, July 13th from 9:00-11:00 each morning. Due to a construction project and safety concerns, the playground is still closed. Students will need to use the front doors for arrival and dismissal.

The NC football camp 7th-12th grade will be July 10th & July 11th (helmets only) and again July 17th & July 18th(shells-helmets/shoulder pads/leg pads). We will plan on going from 6:00pm-8:30pm in Bassett. The high school and junior high coaching staff will be there to provide instruction to the student-athletes. We will focus heavily on individual technique by position and install a portion of our offense and defense. We certainly encourage participation for everyone able to attend. This will give them a head start this fall and be a fun learning experience for everyone involved.

All of the sports schedules are on the school website. Click the Explore button in the upper right hand corner, then select Activities. On the right select the Sport you are looking for. There are a few changes yet to be made, but those will be updated when the information is received.
