Seniors wanting to take the ACT Test again need to register by Sept. 16th for the October test date. The final chance to take the ACT Test is usually the December test for seniors.

Reminder: School pictures for RCHS are tomorrow September 7th, and BGS photos are on Thursday September 8th.

Parents and/or Guardians of RCHS students: please, please, please notify the office if your student is going to be absent, arrive late or need to be dismissed early - students are most likely driving themselves to and from school, and we worry when they do not show. Even if your student picks up a white slip from the office, you still need to notify us they will be absent. Thank you so much.

Burwell notes from Coach K - way to go Knights! Top Lady Knight was Angela Frick. I knew Angela had put in the miles this summer as she had been practicing strong these past three weeks but being a freshman, I wasn’t sure of where she would finish in her first high school meet. She kept her second place position throughout the race- which revealed a very competitive and determined young athlete. Junior Keira Taylor also had a great race on Thursday. She had a 4th place finish and looked very poised throughout the race. Keira looks stronger and more confident than I’ve ever seen -I’m excited to see how she performs this season. Top Knight was Raden Orton. Orton had another 1st place finish at Burwell for his second consecutive year. It was a tighter race for the first minutes- but then Raden pulled away from the group and set the pace. Junior Mason Hagan had a good 4th place finish and I’m confident he will continue to improve as the season goes on. Freshmen Andrew Rowan and Carter Buell also ran their first high school meets at Burwell. Jumping up to the high school distances from junior high is always a little overwhelming for some athletes. But I see Rowan and Buell as smart, dedicated runners who will make a lot of progress this season. Burwell allowed us to see right away the competition of fellow NVC Conference school-West Holt. It is always good to know our toughest competition early on so we can set goals for the upcoming season. Thanks, Jane Klemesrud

Ainsworth Cross Country Invite - TIME CHANGE Due to the heat the Ainsworth Cross Country Invite will now start at 10am The schedule will be as follows: Girls- 10:00 am Boys- 10:40 am MS Girls- 11:15 am MS Boys- 11:30 am Awards- Around noon Additionally the pasture adjacent to the start line will be unavailable. Parents they will need to park northeast of the clubhouse.

High School Fall Sports Parents. The fall sports pictures and buttons came today. Coaches will be giving them out at practices. Please ask your student athlete about them.

DON'T FORGET!! RCHS Foundation Scholarship Reminder Rock County High School graduates are reminded to request your scholarship funds for the 2022-2023 school year. 2022 graduates need to submit enrollment verification of at least 12 hours. Graduates of 2019, 2020 and 2021 are required to submit enrollment verification along with a transcript showing cumulative GPA of at least 2.5%. Information can be emailed to Jan Foster at [email protected], mailed to Jan at PO Box 581 Bassett, NE 68714 or given to Brandi Hollenbeck at Rock County High School.

Mileage Reimbursement Forms for August 2022 are due to Brandi by Thursday, September 1st. The forms are available on our school website, www.rockcountyschools.org or by stopping in the office at BGS or RCHS. You can email them to [email protected] or drop them off at BGS or RCHS.
