KSB Presents: Digital Citizenship
Coady Pruett of KSB Law was in the house Tuesday, August 31 to present to the sixth through twelfth grade students at Rock County Public Schools on digital citizenship. Mr. Pruett discussed proper social media use (both on school grounds and off school grounds), cyber-bullying, as well as former court cases around these types of issues. The presentations were done in two groups with the first presentation geared toward the sixth through eighth graders and the second presentation for the high school students. Upon completion of the high school presentation, students asked questions to provide clarity on the subject matter. Senior Levi Lewis stated, “When Coady Pruett comes in I feel like it’s a good opportunity for kids to learn what they can and can’t do. I feel it makes the kids a little scared of what social media can hold on you and will come back to get you in the future, especially if you want to go to college. It’s a good learning experience for us to make Rock County High School stronger.” Rock County Public Schools also obtained permissions to record the presentation for future use with students as needed.

As per RCPS dress code, we have students who are violating policy. Please review the dress code below to help us ensure your child(ren) are following the policy.

If you receive a letter stating there has been a student who was symptomatic or who has tested positive for COVID in the classroom, that does NOT mean there is a confirmed case of COVID. We have to treat anyone who displays the symptoms as if they are positive but we do not know if they are. Other students in the classroom do NOT have to quarantine and are still allowed to go about as usual. We are simply asking you to self-monitor for symptoms. If you receive the letter stating there have been two students symptomatic, or who have tested positive, your child is required to mask at school and the health department guidance says they should mask in any public locations for 14 days from exposure. A third letter would require us to quarantine all students who were in that classroom within 14 days of the first exposure. That quarantine period will be based on exposure dates.
